Hello everyone,
I am very pleased to be part of this forum.
Born to a Hindu family in India, and brought up in Sydney Australia, I have lived and enjoyed life in a variety of ways from art, sport and socialisation to meditation, yoga and spiritual practice. Acquainted with both Indian communities and Australians, I feel that it is important to have a balance of the both worlds. The Hindu world has given me timeless inspiration and spiritual upliftment through reading the history of Indus Valley and mythologies such as Ramayana and Mahabharata, celebrating auspicious festivals, and attending cultural dances and performances in the last 15 years - whereas in the Western world, I have had the luck and joy of schooling, extensive travelling and exposure to scientific method and classics, which date back to ancient Greece.
As a Hindu, who enjoys variegated cultural, artistic and spiritual lifestyle, I feel that there are times when I should stop and take a moment to reflect on the current reality, who I am, my place in both worlds and my experiences. This includes the other side of the world that is in a great state of poverty, starvation and humanitarian crisis, whilst tackling important questions for the future such as climate change, planning innovative, sustainable cities and bringing radical changes to the social and legal landscape in Australia, India and worldwide. I rely on my own intelligence, creativity, strategy, thinking, moral judgement and wisdom as well as cooperation and teamwork with others to address such issues, but more importantly it is the rich lore of Sanatana Dharma that truly inspires and instils in us and the humankind the ancient tradition and values of harmonious, progressive and humane living.
So by participating in this forum, I hope to enjoy and learn from sages, devout Hindus and people alike on a variety of topics from gods, spirituality, civilisations and art to day to day issues and questions of life. I am especially interested in moral questions that have for thousand years intrigued the humankind and Hindus in particular, and how to live better, more righteous and virtuous life.
I look forward to taking part in this forum anytime.
Thank you very much
