    Smile Lord Krishna's Childhood

    Namaste HDF,

I learned something interesting last week about Lord Krishna...I learned that when He was a child, He was quite the naughty and mischievous one!

When I heard about this...I am not sure why, but it was a profound revelation to me. And this past week it has gotten me through hard times. The reason for that is was a way to forgive myself, to remind myself that one doesn't have to be perfect. I know I'm certainly not.

Now the fire inside me has been stoked to learn more about this period of Lord Krishna's life. Does anyone have any good sources on it? Just thinking about it makes me happy...and I want to know more.

The stories about Krishna's childhood IMO lend credence to His historicity. When people suggest that Krishna is not based on a historical person, you can point to the stories of His childhood mischief, and think "would someone make up these things about a mythical god-man?

Description of Lord Krishna's life can be found in the Puranas, and the most detailed in Srimad Bhagavatam Canto 10 just like Cosinuskurve mentioned, and in Harivamsa also.
