Dear All
In an assembly of scholars of Sanatana Dharma like this forum͵ there is no need for me to select slokas from the Ramayana and “prove“ the subject line of this thread. Of all emotions the most purifying is Sokah. Tears born out of deep sorrow alone can help many of us to truly detach ourselves from all that is mundane that has occupied our energies for long͵ and look deeply inside͵ seeking a glimmer of light amidst total darkness. Until then “Vag vaikharee sabdajharee Sastravyakhyaana kaushalam...!“

Sokah slokatvamaagathah. Tears of commiseration of a Mighty Tapaswi has brought out this poem. Hence the purpose of the poem is to immerse us in Karuna rasa and purify us from the root. If we seek reasons behind certain incongruous lines in the text (as they appear to us in our present state of knowledge) we might tend to miss out on the feelings they espouse.
