    CLASSICAL COMPOSITIONS ON SRI VISHNU

    Namaste,

    I would like to share the link of this beautiful composition by the Vaishnava Saint Sri Annamacharya.The saint expresses about Lord Vishnu in a lucid manner.

    Entha maathramuna by Smt.MS Subbulakshmi

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4oCi-Os1l60

    Language:Telugu (First few lines in Tamil)

    Meaning: I combined two available translations for simplifying)

    Oh Lord,Your devotees visualize You in many ways. Your presence and grace depend upon how well a person thinks about you.When I observe sincerely,it is just like the size and quality of a pan-cake depending on the batter.

    The Vaishnavas worship you with reverence as Lord Vishnu.
    The Vedic philosophers tell that you are the Supreme Conscience
    (Parambrahma).
    The Saivas believe that you are Lord Siva and
    the Kapalikas praise You as Adibhairava.
    The Sakteyas consider you as the manifestation of the supreme power Sakti.

    People chant your praise in a number of ways.
    Ignorant people assume that you are insignificant.The wise recognize that your greatness is infinite.

    You are like the vast water pool to spread the lotus flowers.
    It is only the water of Bhagiradhi(Ganga) river that seeps into the wells by her side and thus they never dry up (because the wells are always fed with water from this river beside).

    I pray to You, Oh Lord! Please be beside me!
    Oh Lord,you are our protector.
    I surrender at your feet.
    You are bound to be by my side!
    It is You, Oh Lord, who have made me to become Your devotee;
    It is You, Oh Lord, who have knocked my doors ~ only to grant me the protective asylum under Your lotus feet;
    You are the ONE who enlightened me;
    This is the eternal bliss for me!
    This is the Para-Tattva for me!
    This is my moksha-marga (salvation)!

    Lyrics:
