Definitions: Kriya
Kriya
Kriya from the Sanskrit "kri" (action). Kriya Yoga incorporates Karma Yoga, Jnana Yoga and Bhakti Yoga as described in the Bhagavad Gita. This school of yoga focuses on energy control and awareness of the indwelling soul's relationship to breath and life force.
Discussion:
Within the last couple of centuries, Kriya was revitalized through a chain of enlightened masters: the mysterious Babaji, his disciple Lahiri, his disciple Shriyukteshwar, and his disciple Yogananda, among others. Yogananda expressed, "Kriya, controlling the mind directly through the life force, is the easiest, most effective, and most scientific avenue of approach to the Infinite. In contrast to the slow, uncertain "bullock cart" theological path to God, Kriya may justly be called the "airplane" route.".
