    Namaste Ji,

We can add one more to this list.I recently heard a discourse by Sringeri Sri Bharati Tirtha Shankaracharyaji in which he mentioned about Sri Sudarshana protecting Sri Ambarisha Maharaja.

    Namaste Ram

Yes, indeed, you have given a good example of "kaisA chakkar chalAyA re, shyAm teri ungali ne" although ShyAm did not "send" Sudarshan Chakra. Sudarshan as His devotee, servant and pArshad went after durvAs muni on his own.
There are numerous such examples and the best place to find them is shrimad bhAgvat mahApurAN. However, the magic of ShyAm's finger is not restricted to the itihAs purAN alone. It continues even today and devotees see its grace.

For those who haven't read bhAgvat or the paurANic itihAs,

The story of Ambarish Maharaj (his devotion and devotional attitude), DurvAs Muni being hard on him for no fault of his, and the Lord's Sudarshan Chakra (Discus) following Durvas Muni ... can be found in

Shrimad BhAgvat purAN Canto 9 Chapters 4 and 5.
What is interesting is that the Sudarshan Chakra followed DurvAs Muni in all lokas till he finally reached VaikunTha and asked NArAyaN for forgiveness, but the Lord said, "Not Me, you have to ask Ambarish to forgive you." Ambarish was a devotee and held no grudge against Durvas muni despite the tough situation he put him in. King Ambarish forgave durvAs muni and the Sudarshan Chakra whose heat was burning Durvas muni stopped instantly.

jaya jaya sudarshana jaya jaya sudarshana

does god only grants moksha to exceptional devotees like Prahlad, annammayya,Sriramadasu etc.. or even to normal devotees like us?

    Jai Shri KRshNa
Even to normal devotees like us. He gives us many clues to come to Him in Bhagvad Gita, BhAgvat purAN, Devi BhAgvat, and other purANa, the upanishads.....

Prahlad -- was a case of dnyAnottar bhakti -- jnAna first, in mother's womb, given by DevaRshi NArad along with bhakti-beej, which was full blown like a lotus at age 5. He went through such difficulties at such a young age! He had to fight for life at the hands of his own father. Very sad.

One thing I can say though --- those who have extreme difficulties living in this world, almost suffocating, when they turn to God, He appears and takes care of them. Why does He leave the others alone? Because they are OK, they can float/swim, they have a Guru / they are in good hands / they are to be in the material world slightly longer since they are not "virakta" (vairAgya has not dawned) yet. They continue to find the material life interesting. They want to fulfill wishes in this world.

This is what the sarva-dharma parityajya verse is about , partly. Partly it is the gateway to adhyAtma-jnAna.

Those who depend on God and and only God are visibly the ones He picks up first. Naturally. After all KRshNa is the Mother. He will pick up the hysterically crying child first - one in most need of intervention -- SOS.

Art (sad), arthArthi (wanting material oppulence) jidnyAsu (curious) and jnAni (one in knowledge of the Self) -- are the 4 types that He classifies devotees into (chaturvidhas bhajate mAm...)

It is very good to be curious.. You do get the fruits of jidnyAsA. If that is combined with vairAgya, and prem, nothing like it.

Yes, KAnhA, tane mAkhan bhAve re! Shri KRshNa loves butter alone, with sweet sugar candy. Give Him 56 delicacies, He won't look at them. He will go for the mAkhan mishri.

We cannot yet get over this fact, and check this!

AsA kasa devAchA deva bAi ThakaDA??
How is it that the Supreme, God of all gods is a [butter] thief ??! 'He limps on one leg' says Eknath -- He crawls with a ball of butter in hand, swiftly, limping-crawling on one hand and one leg, to avoid getting caught.
Goes to the cowherd homes, eats curd milk and butter, breaks the ropes holding the curd-pots, and breaks the pots
What a mess of curd, milk and butter!!
By breaking pots/spilling curd He spreads transcendence on the floor of the homes (pADI to navaneetAchA saDA)
Then He goes to the sandy banks of the Yamuna river and performs kirtan!
Then that place becomes a gathering of saints and sAdhus
Now give that One and Only JanArdana butter in alms...
Deva (KRshNa) is the child (calf) of EknAth ! (EknAth the saint composed this abhanga) deva ekanAthAchA bachhaDA!

asa kasa asa kasa asa kasa asa kasa ??? devacha deva bai thakada???
langadA ga langada langada ga langada deva ekapayani langada!!

    gawLyA ghari jAto dahi-dudha khAto
    shinkechi todito, matkechi phodito
    ghari dahyA dudhAchA rabadA!
    shinkechi todito, matkechi phodito
pADi to navaneetAchA saDA, saDA ga bai...

    vALavanTi jAto, kirtana karito
    sAdhu-santAnchA zAlA ragaDA
    eka janardani bhikshA vAdhA
    deva ekanAthAchA bachhaDA!!
