Re: Sankalpa - your experience
Namaste ShivaFan ji,
In Tamil, we call this as 'taking Sankalpam', deriving the root word from Sanskrit. To me, it only means taking a vow as in saying, "I will surrender unto god and do this and this activities so many number of times for so many days or until my wish is fulfilled". Yes, I have taken Sankalpa, once to Sri Raghavendra Swami when I was in troubled waters to get out of the trouble. I took Sankalpa that I would stick to/adhere by all rules for following his vrata ("Sankalpa Seva") for 3 days (only), as the vrata is a very hard one.
This link explains in Q&A Sri Raghavendra Swami's Sankalpa Seva procedure: https://meerasubbarao.wordpress.com/...avendra-swamy/
Regards.
