    Namaste together

I am from Germany and I love India so much. I was there exactly 20 times and attended three Kumbha Melas. I know your great country better than mine!

In 2004 I converted to Hinduism in a Tamil temple, my Hindu name is Abirami.

I read a lot of the holy scriptures and there are sometimes questions coming up which I do not get answered in my country. So I will ask them here – hope they are not boring for you.

And, hopefully, I am able to attend some discussions …

Vannakkam: Welcome to these forums, and I hope your stay here is fruitful. Was it the Hamm temple you went to? I've heard good things.

    Vannakkam Eastern Mind,

Hamm Temple is the biggest temple we have in Germany. It’s far away from my home, I was there only once. There is a story, I am not sure that it is true but it is nice: The priest was travelling in Germany and he happend to come to a city called Hamm. 'So ham' in mind the decided to establish a temple there.

There are a lot of small Tamil temples all over in the meantime. In about one hour I can reach 5 temples!!! 2 Siddhi Vinayaka and 3 Amman.

    Namaste Indialover,

Welcome to the forum. I joined this forum before few days and so far, my experience is good here. Many, here, reflected on my doubts or gave moral support for what I wrote. I hope that you shall also get answers of some questions, if not all.
I hurriedly introduced myself in wrong part of forum and this is actually the right place for introduction.

I agree Hinduism is a great religion. I heard that it is spread across Germany, many citizens follow it. But as you wrote that there are 5 temples which could be reached within 1 hour indicates that Hinduism is quite popular there.
Alright let me not bore you here. Enjoy HDF.

Vannakkam: I realised how refreshing it is to hear a westerner who makes the strong string connection of Hinduism to India. Thanks for that.

    Namaste follower12,

The Tamil refugies from Sri Lanka are the ones - beside of ISKCON - who brought Hinduism to Germany. They establish temples. These are not build temples, they just rent houses or flats. The smaller the more uplifting ...

    Re: Namaste together

... believe me Eastern Mind it was and is not easy ... no westerner can grasp Hinduism!

But I am guided through my Bhakti.

So thank you ALL for your warm welcome!
