    Want to become a Sanyasi

    Hi,

I want to renounce worldly life and become a Sanyasi. I want to go to Varanasi for the same. But I don't know anyone in Varanasi. Does anyone know of any place or organization in Varanasi to start off?

    Thanks.

Just some ideas on this matter...
The saṁnyāsin practices saṁnyās - to lay aside , give up , abandon , resign , ‘ to throw down’ . Yet one has always thought, yes, I will
abandon this world, go to a cave or another country, city or state.
Yet no matter where you go, if one is still filled with differentiated thoughts the world has come with them!

What then is one ‘throwing down’ ? Bhinnavedyatā

    • bhinnavedyatā = bhinna + vedyatā
    • bhinna = distinct , different from or other, ~differentiated~ +
    • vedyatā = restrained or held ( yata) knowledge (veda)

Bhinnavedyatā = differentiated awareness or knowledge – the world of diversity , of fractional awareness.

If one wishes to go here and there that is all well and good… yet you will bring this bhinnavedyatā with you, it is now just in a different city and state.
    What was accomplished?

What many wish to do is pursue this notion of nirvāṇa - final emancipation; yet the term in its ‘raw’ form means to extinguish, blow out suggesting extinguishing
ignorance , but more importantly the ‘blowing out’ differentiated ( fractional/individualized) consciousness. This ( as I see it) does not depend upon a city/state
or even a country. It is all in me.

    …do as you see fit.

tava śivasamatvāt – you are identical with śiva
    यतस्त्वं शिवसमोऽसि
    yatastvaṁ śivasamo'si
because you are identical with śiva

Thanks both of you for your help and advise. @bhaswathy I'm assuming you mean the Annapurna Annakshetra trust. That's what shows up in Google. Thanks v.much for your help.

"Leaving Grihastha Ashrama (stage of householder) does not mean leaving the home and family. It means cutting your family bonds in your heart.

Similarly, taking Sanyasa Ashrama does not mean just wearing saffron clothes. It means attaining divine knowledge and propagating it in this world. There is no time limit for this stage and it should not be taken in an external physical sense. The real Sanyas is only in the internal spiritual sense. Thus on any day, one can become a sanyasi."
