    Namaste,

Thanks Viraja for bringing this to the attention of HDF members.

Related to this Jayanti is the place Jyotisar in Kurukshetra where Krishan Bhagwanji imparted the knowledge contained in the Bhagwad Gita to Arjun. I have to visit this place on my next trip to India - the place where Krishan Bhagwan showed His Complete form to Arjun.

Some pictures of the place are at the following link,

    Re: Happy Vaikunta Ekadasi 2015

Thank you for the wonderful info, Smaranam ji and Believer ji.

I did not know it was Gita Jayanthi too and also connected to a holy place that you can visit (Jyotisar). Thanks for thoughtfully including pics, Believer ji.

In South India, Sri Vaishnavas go to temple early in the morning around 4:30 AM when the North side doors to the temple will be opened and it is believed entering through these door will fetch moksha - hence the term 'Vaikunta' Ekadasi.

In North America, temples usually conduct this routine around 6:00 AM only. So hopefully I will attend!

    Wish you a wonderful one.

    Namaste
Nice pictures of Jyotisaar. That marble rath of KRshn~Arjuna reminds me of its very beautiful and humungous version at HRshikesha right by the banks of the GangA.

The profundity of the whole scene cannot be missed.
KRshNa holding the reigns of Arjun's chariot is HRshikesha -- Master of the 5 senses. (Shri KRshNa = paramAtmA, His 4 horses = senses, chariot = body. Arjun hands himself over to the Supreme Lord KRshNa)

This is why the holy town after entering HaridwAr (the door to Hari), is called HRshikesha.
At this spot the Holy river GangA is the widest, which started as a trickling stream called BhAgeerathI (after BhAgeerath who brought the celestial GangA to earth for his uncles' salvation -- ref: Shrimad BhAgwat purAN), in the Himalayas when Lord Shiva agreed to hold the fierce flow in His JaTA - matted locks of hair).

When I first went to this spot at HRshikesh I was awestruck by the beautiful more-than-lifesize darshan of the beautiful HRshikesha with His Beloved favourite shishya (disciple) Arjuna. His strong arm holding the reigns, and a pleasant knowing and utterly caring smile for the shishu Arjuna.

BhAgeerathi in Gangotri (Himalayas) turns into AlaknandA at BadrinAth and the wider commonly known GangA at HaridwAr and HRushikesha.

    GangA MaiyA ki jay
    YamunA MahArAnI ki Jay
Bhagavad GeetA Devi ki Jay (Who acc. to Sant DnyAnweshwar Maharaj performs AaratI of BhagvAn Shri KRshNa with 26 lamps representing 26 guNas/tattva (principles of Nature & Truth))

Jay Nar NArAyaN ki , Shri KRshNArjuna ki

    Jai Jai Shri RAdhe-ShyAm ~
