Jupiter and Venus aspect on ascendant or its lord (w.r.t lethargy)

    Namaste,

On contrary to the popular view that aspect of benefics - Jupiter and unafflicted Venus on ascendant and its lord being GOOD, from the point of view of lethargy, it seems such an aspect from benefics will predispose the native to chronic lethargy. I just picked this up from the old thread I posted on lethargy - this is the response I got for the chart I posted as an example.

    Is this view correct?

What other combinations produce lethargy in an individual? Isn't lethargy a form of 'inertia', and thus the result of 'tamas' and therefore, tamasic grahas such as Saturn be the reason for it than grahas such as Venus (Rajas) or Jupiter (Sattwa)?

    Thanks,

    Viraja

An evolved soul immersed in contemplation may look like indulged in lethargy to onlookers sometimes . Just a view .

... And the mighty Saturn might do that, correct? Well, I agree, but my question is rather on planets with bad awastha rather than good awastha...

Dear friend , there could be some mistake . Good jupiter and good venus aspecting lagna or lagna lord would always try to help the native by taking him to unexpected heights. If in bad avastha or lord ship or weak , would pull him to abysmal depths. Such Jupiter would make the person moral delinquent , hypocrat and super brag. Such venus makes the person to resort to highway robbery , a womaniser,or a hater of woman . These are all observations made by the wise . But I didn't come across the observation as given by you , i;e that of lethargy.

    dear friend ,
Ayanamsa is a vexed problem and with differences in the ayanamsa we get different divisional charts . I don't go beyond dasamsa chart. Many astrologers can read a chart only with navamsa.

Yes, without making peace with ayanamsha, not a lot gets accomplished ;-)

    Dear friend ,
Surprisingly many times we get beautiful results with rasi ans navamsa along with transits. In some cases if the birth time is correct , timing of the events can be arrived at by transits rather accurately provided the dasa and anthar dasa are correct.
wish you a very very prosperous new year.
