Re: Does anyone recognize this mantra?
oṁ gaṇeśvarāya namaḥ
ॐ गणेश्वराय हमः
Please be advised it reads as follows:
vakratuṇḍa mahākāya sūryakoṭi samaprabha |
nirvighnaṃ kuru me deva sarvakāryeṣu sarvadā ||
In devanāgarī (i.e. the city of the deva’s) script, sometimes a 'va' sound is substituted by a 'ba' sound ; note the similarities in the devanāgarī phonemes व (va) and ब (ba).
Now, what does this mantra say? This has been reviewed on HDF a few times so I will let you do a search on it and get accustomed to know the search approach.
But that said the 1st term vakratuṇḍa or vakratuṇḍaṁ = the One having curved tusks or trunk; vakra = curved, bent, twisted + tuṇḍa = trunk, beak, snout.
iti śivaṁ
