What's offensive to Hindu neighbor prayer?

Hey guys, just here asking you opinions please. We are christians who have Hindu tenants, when they have their Pooja or Ramayan ceremonies, would it be considered an offense if we cook meat on the day they are having their religious ceremonies?

Vannakkam: It's nice of you to be sensitive, but you're the landlord. You can do what you want. In that situation, very few, if any Hindus would take offense. We generally have a live and let live attitude.

    Namaste,

    Welcome to the forum.

Depending on how seriously they observe, being in the same household may be a big problem. However, if they are in a separate condo unit with its own entry, then they are isolated from you and are not aware of what you are cooking in your part of the residence and the whole question is moot. The degree of offensiveness varies greatly - some may not be able to withstand the smell/aroma of meat and would not share a table with someone eating meat while others may have grown more tolerant to people with food habits different from their own. But it pays to be considerate of others around you.

They have their own entrance so a totally separate unit. Yesterday, the mom came down and told me that the kids were smelling my fried chicken and wanted some which they love when I cook it so I saved some for them for today. So no harm was done, appreciate the insights here, thanks.
