Hello and Namaste,

I have a fundamental jyotish question. Hope its ok to ask, as a mere curiosity-stricken layman.

We see 2 kinds of people in India these days - those who are devout, strictly religious, pious, taking to self-discipline such as in the form of wearing swadeshi clothes, etc

And there are those, esp. noticeable among women, those who seem fascinated by foreign culture, who cut their hair, wear jeans, leggings, foreign clothes.

What causes this difference? I read long time ago, such fascination over foreign culture and imitating them, esp. Western culture is signified by planet RAHU. Is this correct? And if so, how and where should such rahu be placed.

I am sorry if my hypothesis is not correct.

To the best of my knowledge the chaya grahas both Ra & Ke are notable for their "subtle influences". Especially Ra as He is the agent of Maya Herself.
