Re: Shiva & Navagraha
hariḥ oṁ
~~~~~~
namasté & hello,
Who is the sun ? śivaḥ ; who is the moon ? Parvatī ( from candra and parvata). Nothing occurs without these 2. And... look to each tithi for the bright and dark half of the month to find other places where these two reside.
And what does śivaḥ have above His head ? ( The crescent moon) – why so ? What does it tell us? And what of ketu? This is none other than ganeṣa . And mars? kartikeya. What of the 11 rudrā-s ? The lord of the 8th from all houses ( less the one owned by jupiter also called bṛhaspati¹) is owned by rudra and hence there are 11. What do they do? They are responsible for holding prāṇa within the body. Look to the śrīmad bhāgavatam ( 4.24.17) for more information on these rudrā-s.
You will find these answers within the HDF posts here in various places.
