    Re: Request for translation

    Namaste Indialover,

    These appear to be the chapter names of Mahabharata.

    Let me try their translation :

    22. AraniprAptiH

    It should be AraNyaprAptih because AraNiprAptih doesn't appear to be connected with Mahabharata chapters. AraNya = Forest, PrApti =Attain, get, receive. So, it should mean "Getting (Stay in) Forest".

    23. AjnAtavAsasamAptiH

    AjnAta + Vasa + SamAptih ==> AjnAta means "Unknown/Incognito", VAsa means "Stay", SamAptih means "End". So, it should mean "End of staying incognito".

    24. YudhhOdyOgaH

    Yuddhah (War) + Udyogah (Engaging in)
    ==> Engaging in war

    25. BhIsmapAtaH

    BhIshma = Strong/Hard/Very difficult, PitAmah = Grandfather
    ==> Grandfather who has taken a very difficult vow

    26. NarayaNAstrOpasamanam

    NarayaNAstra = A War arms/ammunition/missile named after Lord NarayaNa, Upasamanam = Making (the missile) ineffective

    ==> That which can make NarayaNAstra ineffective

    27. KarNavadhaH
    KarNa = Name of Warrior, the sixth PAnadava who fought for Kauravas
    Vadha = Killing

    ==> Killing of KarNa

    28. PAndavarRjyalAbhaH

    PAndava = PAndava
    RAjya = Throne
    Labhah = getting

    ==> Pandavas getting the Throne (i.e. Winning the War)

    29. SamstadharmasamgrahaH

    Samasta = All
    Dharma = Duties
    Samgrah = storing/attaining/performing

    ==> Performing all stated duties

    30. YAgasAmAptiH

    Yaga = Yajna, SamAptih = End

    ==> End of Yajna

    31. DhritarAStrAdisvargaprAptiH
    DhritrAshtra = Name of father of Kauravas
    Adi = Etc.
    Svarga = Heaven
    PrAptih = getting / attaining

    ===> DhristrAshtra etc. attaining heaven

    32. PAndavasvargArOhanam

    PAndava=PAndava
    Svarga = Heaven
    Arohanam = Ascending

    ==> Ascending of PAndavas to heaven

    Namaste Devotee and India Lover

    NarayaNAstrOpasamanam
    I assume India Lover has taken these words from Mahabharata. I am curious to know the context in which the above word is used in Mahabharata.

    Can ANY ONE nullify the effects of Sriman Naaraayan's weapons?

    Thank you devotee, that’s more than I expected … word by word … great!
    These are the last chapters of Madhva's Mahabharata Tatparya Nirnaya, the content is translated but not the titles. Now I have it all complete.

    Anirudh, I am not yet in chapter 26 - but you may read here http://www.mahabharatatatparyanirnaya.com who nullifies Narayan's weapons ... ???

    Namaste India Lover

    Thanks for the link, I understood the context. After the death of Dhronacharya (deceived by Yudishtar) his son Ashvathdhama fired Naaraayana Astra to punish Pandava . Apparently Pandavas escaped with the help of Lord Krishna.
