Regarding Pralaya for me the most elaborate and fascinating website is

Regarding Bhagavad Gita slokas I would say they refer to Kalki Avatar as described in Kalki Purana, where at the end of Kali Yuga He will kill Adharma (Kali) and reestabish Dharma.

At the end of Kali-yuga, the Supreme Lord, will incarnate as Lord Kalki and kill all the Mlecchas, Yavanas, Atheists and Buddhists of the world that defy the Vedic authority.

Thanks for those links India Lover. I certainly believe statements from Srimad B.G is not limited to one Avtar (re incarnation). Further more not necessarily at the end of each Yuga (era) contrary to the general understanding. Sriman Naaraayan* takes various form to install Justice.

I wish to understand the meaning and the purpose of Pralaya and how different it is from reincarnation.

I brought this question as I am learning Purusha Shukta and Srimad B.G at the moment.

    * As a Vaishnava see Sriman Naaraayan as the supreme

Good question. I have no answers to your question. But I have heard from few Sri Vaishnava Upanyasaks that concepts taught by Buddha existed even before the era of Gautama Buddha
