Why no? history of Indian Kings ?

    Namaste

We have two epics which give us a lot of historical information about the kings during that period. We find such details in our Puranas also.

But why we don't have enough information on the relatively new Kings. It baffles me, why only few selected kings like Ashoka, Raja Raja Chola (to name a few) wrote their own history (stone inscription)?

Considering our interest in literature, should we believe that Indian Kings while building temples after temple never bothered to write about themselves? Because our temples were built using granite, they could withstand the tyranny we underwent. So no non puranic Kings other than few thought, they will not use stone inscription to talk about themselves?

    Namaste Satay,

Thank you very much for your response. My intention is to bring about an awareness among us about our History. I am into Big Data filed for close to be 3 years and understand the importance of data. It is said corpse don't or can't lie. So, I am one hundred percent sure that our History had been written by our fore fathers. It might sound like a wild guess or a hypothetical view. We believe everything from Invaders mouth about us without any question, but we are not ready to see through the farce in the manipulations in other words the so called our history written by the Invaders.

Let's take a simple fact based argument.

We were damn good in literature, our scriptures are the proof to it.
Every man and woman like to be praised or wish to hear good about ourselves. Royals shouldn't have been an exception to it.
We had understood the importance of astrology in us. We have not made irrational claims in our Vedic astrology

What is astrology, isn't a branch of fact finding through scientific means?
Is History not related to fact finding?
We had all the time and will to preserve our smriti and shruti but had decided not to write about social life. Should we believe this farce?

Even today in a frequent intervals hidden artifacts are being unearthed. What we found in Sri Padmanaba Temple (Kerala) is a standing example that our temples were rich meaning our kings were rich meaning the society was rich. When our ancestors did every thing to protect the wealth, should we believe wouldn't have taken an inventory of things. Isn't it utter foolishness to believe that our ancestors did not write history or naively accept to the voices that say Indians do not have any historical facts to support their tall claims. Let's think.

BTW, one may think, these are all the effects of Maya and hence lets spend our time on better area. IMHO, we had been committing this grave mistake for quite sometime. We have given heavy price. Lets see what we lost from our so called staying away from the important things due to our own misunderstandings.

This revelation has solidified the status of the Padmanabhaswamy Temple as the wealthiest place of worship in the world.[48] It is conservatively estimated that the value of the monumental items is close to ₹1.2 lakh crore or ₹1.2 trillion (US$19 billion). If the antique and cultural value were taken into account these assets could be worth ten times the current market price.[49]

We certainly have a lot of information, one will not find it in mainstream school education, though. Look for RC mazumdar's 'history and Culture Of the Indian People' series, for eg.
