A good Hindu book on interpreting dreams?

    Namaste,

Can someone please recommend a good book on interpreting dreams the Hindu way...? (Instead of giving just a list of things that each dreamt item stands for, I'm looking for tips and clues on interpreting what is seen the right way... ).

Also how to build on the skill of interpreting dreams? I actually find it quite useful, I seem to be someone gifted on the 'lucid dreaming' front. I have so far had numerous rich dreams involving deities, demons, saints, and so forth, I would tremendously benefit from such a book!

    Thanks,

    Viraja

    Dear Viraja

I do not think that dream analysis like this
    https://www.quora.com/What-is-the-pu...s-per-Hinduism
can be serious and helpful in any way. Dreaming is such a complex matter.

If the Veda would have seen dream analysis as necessary they had done it, but they did not.

May be the following is interesting for you

    Dear IndiaLover,

    Thanks for those links.

But dreams are better known as 'swapna shastra' (the sastra on dreams) and has been known as a branch of sastra. It is like the 'Samudrika Lakshanam' -- that is, ability to tell about the life and future based on the looks of a person.

I too have a link, wherein Jyotishi Sanjay Rath discusses astrological interpretation and future telling based on dreams:

    https://www.indiadivine.org/content/...wapna-shastra/

If so much can be said about dreams by the great pandit, then surely there must exist some formal sources for learning more about dreams. Thus I'm wondering!

    Appreciate your reply!

Also when I was about 15 yrs of age, one night I dreamt that my elder sister (she was 17 then) has had an accident and that her left leg was amputated knee down...! I was totally spooked the next few days, I was sad. It so happened that my elder sister got married soon after that (at age 17) and has had many miserable turn of events in life... and then one day, I was seeing her natal chart, and noticed she had debilitated Saturn in her 12th house (foot). Saturn is the lord of 10th (knees) and 11th (legs). Also Saneeswara is known to have his left leg impaired. I couldn't help but wonder about the dream regarding my sister.
