    Shaivism and onion and garlic

    Namaste,

Do Shaivites eat onion and garlic? Do special considerations need to be taken if wearing Rudraksha?

    Many thanks,
    Seeking

Aum Sivaya ... Some do, some don't. Depends on the sampradaya and individual. I personally have no problem with either.

Vannakkam ... so it boils down to individual choice. Onions, BTW, in terms of tonnage, are India's number 1 ranking crop.

    Vannakkam

In European mythology garlic protects against vampires. Vampires can be compared with Vetala, Pisaca.

And not to forget ... Garlic and onions are medicine.
