After reading ameyAtmA‘s post in the Ramakrishna topic I add the story of Krishna and Rukmini separately.

Regarding Shishupala … he is Jaya, Vishnu’s gatekeeper. Jaya and Vijaya decided to be reborn thrice as demons.

Hiranyaksha (Jaya) and Hirayakashipu (Vijaya) Vishnu killed them as Varaha and Narasimha
Ravana (Jaya) and Kumbhakarna (Vijaya) Vishnu killed them as Rama
Shishupala (Jaya) and Dantavakra (Vijaya) Vishnu killed them as Krishna

Thanks for the sharing the link of beautiful story of Krishna and Rukmani. Also, shishupala was the son of Damaghosha, by Srutashrava, sister of Vasudeva and Kunti.
