Suka son of Vedavyasa did not respond, but Nature; original quote and more metaphors

    Two questions, please:

    1. “There is a story about the great sage, Vedavyasa, and his son, Suka. Even as a boy, Suka was detached from the world. Vedavyasa wanted his son to get married and to lead the normal life of a householder. But Suka, who was born divine, was strongly inclined to live the life of a renunciate. So, one day he gave up everything and left to become a sannyasin. While Suka was walking away, Vedavyasa called his son's name. It was Nature that responded to his call-the trees, the plants, the mountains, valleys, birds, and animals -they all answered him.” (From: Paramatmananda, S. (2000). On the road to freedom: A pilgrimage in india (volume 2). San Ramon, CA: Mata Amritanandamayi Center.; p. 179)
à Does anyone know what scripture says this story?

    2. “what exactly does this mean? When Vedavyasa called his son, Nature answered, because Suka was that Pure Consciousness which is immanent in all of Nature. Vedavyasa called Suka, but Suka was not the body and therefore had no name or form. He was beyond name and form. He existed within everyone; the bodies of all creatures were his. He was in every body, and therefore everything responded. This is the meaning of the story”. (From: Paramatmananda, S. (2000). On the road to freedom: A pilgrimage in india (volume 2). San Ramon, CA: Mata Amritanandamayi Center.; p. 180)
à Does anyone know any other scripture that tells this idea?

    Thanks in advance…

    Namaste Samsarabuda,

the story is from Bhagavatam https://vedabase.io/en/library/sb/1/2/2/

and from Devi Bhagavatam, first book, chapter XIX verses 46 – 59.
