Thread: Best way in northern US to obtain puja flowers?

Question Best way in northern US to obtain puja flowers?

    Namaste 🙏

Do northern people skip flowers until springtime? Or have you found an affordable way to buy them? Do you have potted plants indoors? Use pinecones? 😄

    Thank you!

Re: Best way in northern US to obtain puja flowers?

    Namaste,

I am eager to read responses to this thread for ideas.

As for me, I find flowers way too pricey to afford honoring the gods in my shrine every day using them.

Whenever I feel like it, I buy Gladiolus bulbs in a bunch as they are the cheapest yet look so elegant, and string a garland using the flowers. Not sure if Gladiolus is available in Winter.

Next, for archana, I buy Hydrangea usually, and pluck individual flowers from the bulb....... they last even for 1008 namas (Sahasranamavali) and are affordable for the purpose.

Hope this is helpful at least a bit.

    Thanks.
