Once again Geeta Jayanti on MokshadA Ekadashi 2021 is approaching.

Dec 14 - coming Tuesday - for most of the world.

It was on an Ekadashi 5300 years ago that Bhagavan Shri KRshNa sang the Bhagavad Geeta to Arjun. Since His discourse (the Geeta) was liberating, giving moksha, this EkAdashi (Margasheesh) is called MokshadA EkAdashI. moksha + dA = moksha pradAyini, giving knowledge of freedom, mukti.

So this day every year is honored by pArAyaN of all 18 chapters, all shlokas of the Bhagavad Geeta. (reading/reciting all shlokas, all chapters).

What a perfect occasion for the beautiful Bhagavad Geeta Aarati -- after the pArAyaN is complete.

karma sukarma prakAshini (throws light on karma)
kAmAsakti haraa (takes away Akasti, attachments and desires)

vidyA bramha parA (gives knowledge of Bramh)

nishchal-bhakti-vidhAyini nirmal malahArI . (Purifies the devotee and bestows pure devotion)
sharan-sahasy-pradAyini sab vidhi sukhakAree (Shares the secret of surrender to the Lord, and makes all actions pleasant)

raag-dvesh-vidaarini kaarini mod sada . (destroys the duality of likes and dislikes or attraction/aversion, love/hate)
bhav-bhay-haarini taarini paramaanandaprada (takes away fear, liberates from samsaar and bestows highest bliss)

aasur-bhAv-vinAshini nAshini tam rajanee (destroys demonic qualities and the dark night of ignorance )
daivee sad-gunadAyini hari-rasikA sajanee (bestows divine qualities, this beloved of Hari who dwells in the mellows of Hari's divine qualities)om jay bhagavad geete

samata, tyAg sikhAvani, hari-mukha kI vANi. (Mother Gita teaches equanimosity and equality, sacrifice, and is nectar straight from the Lotus Mouth of Shri Hari VishNu)
sakal shAstra kI svAminI shrutiyon kI rANI (She is the Goddess of ALL scriptures and the Queen of Shruti - the heard, revealed - i..e. Vedas)

daya-sudha barasAvani, maatRu! kRpA keejiye (O Mother, please shower Your grace and mercy on us)
haripad-prem dAn kar apano kar lee jiye ( Give us devotion and pure love of Shri Hari's Lotus Feet , and make us Yours )

• hari mukha kI vANi (Words straight from Hair's Lotus mouth)
• daivI sad-guNa dAyini (Bestows good and divine qualities)
• harihiya kamala vihAriNi (lives with and within Hari always. Kamal = Lotus)
