Namaste friends,

"Jagadhananda jps" is an ISKCON swami who offers really wonderful speech in Tamil language in his Youtube channel. Today he described why the Rath Yatra is celebrated in Puri.

Neelachala is the name of the Jagannath Temple (where people visit and worship the deity) in Puri. However, his vigraha or statue originated or emanated in Gundeecha Temple which is known as Sundarachala.

Therefore, since Jagannath is none but Krishna, Sundarachala where he hailed from is seen as Brindavana. and Neelachala where he resides is seen as Dwarka, and Rath Yatra is celebrated every year to welcome Jagannath Swami from Dwarka to Brindavana.

Jai Jagannath!
