    Yogada's of Hora and Ghatika Lagnas & ....

    Hari Om
    ~~~~~~
    Namaste,
    for those keeping an audit trail on this conversation - this is a continuation of the Hora, Ghatika and Lagna conversation we're having with Arvind.
    This post looks at another tool, another indicator of one's chart, that of yogada. Some say yo-gada and some say yoga-da. Now, one studying jyotish says 'oh you mean Yoga karaka, yajvan?' . Not in this case.
    Definition
    A Yoga karka or a graha that can bring good fortune to the asperant. It is considered the owner/lord of two favorable houses , including one trine ( 1st , 5th or 9th house). Lets use an example.
    Example 1
    Say Cancer is the lagna (lagnam = attached to - that is the rising sign is attached to the horizon, attached to the native). Mars in this case is the owner of a trine ( the 5th house) or Scorpio, and the 10th house, or Aries. Mars in this chart would be a yoga karaka . We would look to Mars and its location to see where it will bring benefits to the native.
    I will bring up later, in another post a Mahapurusha conditions; there are 5 kinds (pancha Maha purusha) and on a future post we will take a look at these since we have just talked of Mars owning the 5th and 10th, He offers Mahapurusha ( Great Person) conditions to occur.
    Yogada - yogam dadaati iti yogadaha
    Definition
    • A yogada is a graha that aspects, or conjoins or is the lord of the Lagna and the Hora Lagna - when this occurs it is called the Dhana yogada.
    • A yogada is a graha that aspects, or conjoins or is the lord of the Lagna and the Ghatika Lagna - when this occurs it is called the Rajya yogada.
    • A yogada is a graha that aspects or conjoins all 3 , Lagna, Hora Lagna and Ghatika Lagna, this is called A Maha yogada.
    • Now what of the Janma Lagna added into this condition? The Janma Lagna is the position of Chandra, and it's house/sign is the Janma Lagna.
    • For benefits to happen to the native, the lagna, the natural ascendent must be part of the equation given above to insure the benefits of the yogada.
    Aspect Types - Dristi
    Graha's and bhava's have dristi to other bhava's or rasi's . This says grahas give a look , a gaze to other houses and throw their influence to those houses... what kinds are there?
    • Graha dristi - the planet or graha can gaze to other house. Pending the Graha different Graha's look to different houses... I will not lay this out, as this can be picked up from any jyotish book e.g. Mars gives graga dristi to the 4th, 7th and 8th houses at 100%.
    • Rasi Dristi - a sign can give its gaze to anther sign. This too you can see in a jyotish book e.g. All dual signs give rasi Dristi to each other.
    • Note there are special rules for rahu and ketu - ketu has no head and therefore cannot 'see' another location as graha dristi. Said another way, ketu is desire-less.
    • Another special aspect is called Argula , or lock. It means intervention, or intervening. Argula is very interesting and unique to this vedic jyotish science. That is, Graha's as karaka's of houses or the houses themselves have direct say (intervention) on the affairs concerning their significator, the karaka. They have direct say on the 2nd, 4th and 11th houses from the karaka. This direct say is obstructed by the bodies ( house or karaka) in the 12th, 10th and 3rd.
      So argula of the 2nd from the house in question is obstructed by the 12th from the house in question. The 4th is obstructed by the 10th and the 3th by the 11th house. Well who wins? Argula or obstuctor? That depends on who is in the house, and who is stonger e.g. papa-argula ( malefic) or subha-argula ( benefics). Simple eh?
      We will leave Argula and intervention for another time as there are more rules and special conditions.
    Why is this mentioned above? For the yogada definitions above and how they can look ( dristi) , or aspect the Lagna , Hora lagna or Ghatika lagna by some of these rules. he yogada graha has the power to deliver the native to wealth and prosperity.
    Other Lagna's - some to be reviewed later
    • Ascendent - the Lagna :The personality of the individual is seen from the Ascendent bhava, it's considered satya peetha or the SELF, the truth of the individual in this incarnation.
    • Sri Lagna - a calculation of the moons progression , then added to the lagna position. It is the Lakshmi sthana in ones chart. Dhana Lakshi gives money yes? Yet Dhanya gives food, Arogya Lakshmi gives health, Vidya Lakshmi gives knowledge, Gaja lakshmi gives vehicles, and My favorite, Moksha Lakshmi gives liberation.
      If one is adept in Sudasa Dasa system, this will accompany this information. This is how it's diferent then Hora Lagna.
    • Varnada Lagna - types of people the native associates with
    • Paka Lagna - the location of the ascendent's lord. physical aspects of the native seen from the Ascendent lord, ascendent position or Paka Lagna.
    • Bhava Lagna - beyond my comprehension
    • Indu Lagna - beyond my comprehension
    more as we progress in the month.
    pranams,
    Om Shirdi Sai Ram.
    Namaste Yajvan.
    Please clarify by answering this eg:
    Suppose Planet Saturn aspects the Lagna, Hora Lagna and Ghatika Lagna in Rasi and Planet Mars aspects Lagna, Hora Lagna and Ghatika Lagna in Navamsa, which Yogada should we take. The Rasi Yogada or the Navamsa Yogada.
    A very interesting Maha yogada yes? Note, is Saturn aspecting by Graha dristi and rasi dristi? I would suspsect this be the case. You are comfortable with rasi and graha dristi rules? For now, today, please consider rasi Yogada. Let me go though some resouces and reading notes to see how other vargas apply. Yet the Navamasa chart ranks highest on the list after the natal chart ( D1).
    pranams,
    Om Shirdi Sai Ram.
    Namaste Yajvan.
    I am aware of Rasi Drishti and Graha Drishti rules.
    Assuming that Planet Saturn has a Rasi and Graha Drishti towards Lagna, Hora Lagna and Ghatika Lagna in the Rasi Chart and Planet Mars has Rasi and Graha Drishti towards Lagna,Hora Lagna nd Ghatika Lagna in Navamsa Chart which Maha Yogada do we take.
    Though you have mentioned to consider the Rasi Chart as of now, I am waiting for your FINAL answer after you go through your resources and notes.
    Eagerly expecting a reply.
