    Poems from Ramana Maharishi

    Namaste All,

Oh I had to post these...

There Is Nothing new To Get

There is nothing new to get.
You have on the other hand,
to get rid of your ignorance,
which makes you think you are other than Bliss.
    For whom is this ignorance?
    It is to the ego.
Trace the source of the ego.
Then the ego is lost and Bliss remains over.
It is eternal You are That, here and now...
This is the master key for solving all doubts.
The doubts arise in the mind.
The mind is born of the ego.
The ego rises from the Self.
Search the source of the ego
    and the Self is revealed.
    That alone remains.
The universe is only expanded Self.
It is not different from the Self...

    - Ramana Maharshi

    Bliss

‘...Bliss is not something to be got.
On the other hand you are always Bliss.
This desire [for Bliss] is born of the sense of incompleteness.
To whom is this sense of incompleteness?
Enquire. In deep sleep you were blissful.
    Now you are not so.
What has interposed between that Bliss and this non-bliss?
    It is the ego.
Seek its source and find you are Bliss.

    - Ramana Maharshi

    Enjoy Being who you are....

    Love,
    Soul

From where does the "I' thought come...
    Go to That...

    Namste Soul,
I cannot recall experiencing bliss... I can say I have experienced joy and happiness, yet bliss to me IMHO is concentrated joy. How much is concentrated I do not no 10X 20X 100X, I am not wise enough to say.

If bliss = joy , then I am aware of this. If not, I am barren of the experience.

    pranams,
    यतसà¥à¤¤à¥à¤µà¤‚ शिवसमोऽसि
    yatastvaṠśivasamo'si
because you are identical with śiva

    Namaste Yajvan,

As Ramana writes " Bliss is not something to be got..."

    It is not an experience.
    Experience comes and goes.
Anything that comes and goes is not real.
Only the unreal comes and goes.

Who we are (the real) is always present underneath experiences, the senses etc.

I think the meaning of Bliss as is referred to here, is not the same as what it usually means in society. I think it's usually associated with a feeling. whereas the peace of abidance in Self is not a feeling as such.
Feeling has a cause. Whereas Self is uncaused.

It is when reliance on a cause for feeling such and such is finally dropped. In other words, there is no longer a running after sensation to define oneself.

    There is a stopping.

Doesn't mean we stop feeling. But the running after the idea of Bliss, and what can cause that, is dropped, and what is revealed is Bliss...

    Hari Om,
    Soul
