Kancheepuram is one of the Seven Mokshpuris. Mokshapuri is a place where the souls are enabled to get relieved of all their sorrows and miseries and placed in the eternal bliss. Sri Kanchi Kshethram is known as a prithivi Kshethram. Prithvi is one of the five elements.

The elements are said to be formed in the following order, the Vedas the primordial verses declares. From the Space the wind, From the wind the fire, From the Fire the Water, From the Water the Earth, From the Earth the Vegetation, From the Vegetation the Humanity Thus the Origin and its cycle is explained.

Tiruvannamalai Kshethram is a Place of Agni (Fire) and Sri Kanchi is a Place of Prithvi (Earth). Both Tiruvannamalai and Sri Kanchi are placed among the 7 Mokshapuris. The Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam is a Mutt established by none other than the Adhi Samkara Bhagavath Padhal in the AD and having continuous Lineage of Pontifs with out any break for over 2000 years. Its so appropriate for the Samkara Mutt to have its Branch established at the Puranic Holy Place like Tiruvannamalai for the benefit of lakhs of pilgrims throng at the Holy town.

The proposed building is going to be established at the path of perambulation around the Mountain the Adhi Arunachala, Opposite to Simha Theertham, Near the Diamond Hillock and next to the District Office.

There are many benevolent devotees of Arunchalm, the permanent aboad of Sadhus, Swamijis and some of them haling from abroad also, who have been looking for contributing their might in the development of the place. We wish all of them to join to gether in this Smarana Kaingkaryam of Arunachalam. Smarana means to remember or to think. By participating in this cause whether we will be able to remember the Arunchalam or not, the Arunachalm will remember us and will relieve us from all our sorrows and miseries.
