    Reincarnation in Christianity

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nb_O4...eature=related By Father Peter a Modern Christian Mystic

  2. #2

    Re: Reincarnation in Christianity

It seems Peter the modern mystic knows something Jesus didnt.

Peter is talking about Jesus coming back.

The following statement from Jesus prohibits reincarnation of Souls.

John 8:24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.

And the following explicitly denies reincarnation.

Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

    more

Mark 16:16 "He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned.

    Another Jesus statement

Revelation 21:7-8 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.

    But the fearful, and
unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Kabbalah teaches reincarnation -we die and are reborn, living many lives, ever seeking to advance spiritually. They say "We are in a process of repairing our broken vessels, which may take many lifetimes".

Mainstream judaism and mainstream Christianity emphasize dogma. The mystics of the traditions have experience. They experience the reality that Christians and Jews say await in some afterlife. I trust a mystic over a dogmatic jew or christian.

According to post number 6 Jesus, who says the unbelievers go to eternal hell, can be termed Dogmatic .

    Namaste SS,

This, IMO, is an excellent statement of facts that precisely distinguishes the esoteric eastern philosophies and exoteric western understanding. Frankly speaking, I am surprised at your clarity, considering your age.

From the materialistic viewpoint, the mysticism, is idling and evil.

That which is without letters (parts) is the Fourth, beyond apprehension through ordinary means, the cessation of the phenomenal world, the auspicious and the non-dual. Thus Om is certainly the Self. He who knows thus enters the Self by the Self.

Unbelievers go to hell. But there is no rule that prohibits unbelievers to begin to believe and avoid going to hell. Shri Krishna also hurls the hard hearted demons to stations lower and lower.

"These cruel haters, worst among men in the world, I hurl these evil-doers into the wombs of demons only. Entering into demoniacal wombs and deluded, birth after birth, not attaining me, they thus fall, Oh Arjuna, into a condition still lower than that,"

Some dvaitins cite this to support eternal bondage for souls. But again there is no rule that the hard hearted demons cannot transform, just as Valmiki did.
