    Vanakkam:

What a croc! Since when do Christians seek permission to convert using any scrupulous means possible. But oh no, when the Hindus reconvert, it's morally wrong. I will be writing a letter to Christianity Today. I encourage many of you to do the same.

Vanakkam: This is what I e-mailed them. word for word.

I am dismayed at the double standard involving conversion. Christians have been actively converting Hindus with unscrupulous means and money from the west for a long time. But then when the opposite occurs, you have the audacity to claim its unfair. This is a complete double standard. I am glad for the people who reconverted to the predominant faith of India, and wish Hindus were more proactive in showing their own what a great faith they have already, and there is no need for Christianity. Perhaps if this were to happen more often, Christians would realise there's more to life than what you believe, such as whether or not you have something to eat.

the thing is, its not only hindus (i understand why this is the main point as this is a hindu forum) it is muslims, it is the jewish people. it is the tribal people in africa (now there killing children who they think are "witches")

this is a huge problem with today.

    Vanakkam masterbbb:

So did you email them expressing your dismay? Maybe if they got a million emails, they'd back off even a little?

Vannakkam: So no one else even bothered to send a protest to Christianity Today? I am wondering why. Is it because you feel such protests are just a total waste of time, as most likely some secretary will just hit delete. Or is it because you don't actually see Christian proselytising as a problem? Or is it because you disagree with this particular mass conversion back when it didn't exactly follow the correct steps. Or is it because you did, and didn't want to mention it. I am wondering. If one wants to complain in this forum about Christian unethical behaviour regarding proselytising, and then not take such a simple step as composing a short letter of dismay and sending it, then I find it hypocritical, I guess.

    Vanakkam Eastern Mind Ji,

In my humble opinion, perhaps people find that the efforts will go futile. The missionaries do not take words our words of protest into their consideration, as they are more focused into implementing their agendas in whatever way they can.
