OM TAT SAT
I'm resurrecting this thread because reading the Bhagavata Purana has piqued my interest.
Is there any difference between this, referred to as Bhagavata Purana
http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/bhag...avata%2bpurana
and this, called Srimad Bhagavatam

Hello Minotaur
Yes, from the covers, the first link looks like the first book in the series. The second link is just one "Canto" similar to a "chapter". There are 12 Canto in total, so you would probably have to search for the ISBN and add the prices up to get the full works.
Here is a link to one site: http://vedabase.net/sb/en
You can also download them in html or pdf format. Here: http://www.srimadbhagavatam.org/
I bought 4 volumes (covering all 12 canto) from www.advaitaashrama.com the price was most reasonable and I like the translation (Sanskrit and English side by side).
I have enjoyed reading them, I am on the 10th Canto now, which elaborates the life of Krishna on earth.
One thing I have noticed, and would be interested in others comments, is that reading the Srimad Bhagavatam brings one much closer to Sri Krishna. I wonder if that is so for other Puranas, I assume it is?
Namaste Onkaraji. Thank you.
I think I figured it out too. Canto 10 is the stories of Sri Krishna, His life and exploits. It looks to be divided into four parts:
Part 1, chapters 1-23;
Part 2, chapters 24-45 ;
Part 3, chapters 46-68;
Part 4 chapters 69-90.
That's exactly the site http://www.srimadbhagavatam.org/ I found this info. at.
Because Sri Krishna is my Ishta-deva, I would be interested in reading Canto 10 first. I'd like it in hardcopy; I'll take a look for it @ http://www.advaitaashrama.com/
Edit:
These are the ones I plan to order, http://www.advaitaashrama.com/ The price is reasonable, even with the shipping.
