Don't look at the comments unless you want to raise your blood pressure though... There's some serious anti-Hindu hate going on there.

Namaste,
Of course the two Christians are Republicans. I am happy to see that most of the other Indians that are running are Hindus. Haley and Jindal are the two most popular, but it would be great if the Indians who didn't ditch their faith can get elected. I think they have a really good chance, as they aren't running for office in the intolerant Bible Belt.

Sadly, there's nothing new about it. We have a long way to go.
We do not fear the night, who have loved the stars so fondly.
Vannakkam: Here in Canada, the conservative Christians have to be very very careful of what they say. Too bad half the populace doesn't have a clue what they actually believe in. Our prime minister is one of them ... keeps those secrets to himself.

Namaste Eastern Mindji,
You're so lucky. I may have to move up to Canada
Here in America one of the two major parties is pretty much dominated by evangelicals. They elected George W. Bush and look what he did to the country! Well Bush didn't necessarily ruin the country because he was evangelical, but that's a whole other story. And now they may want to elect Sarah Palin in 2012
The article says that fewer than 1/10 Canadians consider themselves evangelical. That's amazing. In America the percentage is over 1/3!
