The importance of the natural flow

A Charlebs' post on another thread inspired me to think about how our body and mind shouldn't be submitted to unnatural, unhealthy, processes in the name of immediacy.

Right now a teacher of mine is constantly speaking about how homeopathy and natural therapeutic processes are far more efficient than just giving strong psychotropics to mental patients. He also gave examples of how great personalities went through processes that today all they were going to get was sedated the heck outta them.

Not to mention psychotropics (and all other medicines) are usually launched in a congress made by the pharmceutical companies themselves that invite doctors to fancy places and pay everything to them, it's sheer bribery.

It's a shame that people ignore the fact that mentally self-knowledge is the ultimate answer, but well, just like it's ignored that a disease is not to be treated reactively, instead the cause of the imbalance should be dealt with. Perhaps it's because of a society that tolerates nothing but instant reward, slow processes are a thing of the past. Tell me about cultivating an unhealthy habits.

If someone has anything to add on this subject, specially regarding Ayurveda, it would be nice. I'm yet to read the book 'Ayurveda and the Mind: the healing of consciousness' by David Frawley.

This is a very wonderful subject, Pi!

My husband has Aspergers and has been using meditation to help him create barriers between him and others. My husband is one of those guys like Tesla, very smart...very sweet.

Several of our children were also born with Pervasive LD which is the main category over such disorders as Aspergers and Autism. All drug free and in normal classes at school. All thanks to various natural relaxation activities and a lot of quiet personal space.

My husband and I both also have a congenital heart problem MVP & SVT which we treat with meditation. I have been off medication for over a decade because of this change!

So I very much agree that there are alternatives out there.<3

Thank you for this post. I am very interested in the subject and I hope to pick up that first book you listed soon.

Are there any resources on the web you would suggest in the meantime?
"The leprosy of unreality disfigured every human creature in attendance."
    - Charles Dickens

"Every blade of grass, every insect, ant, and golden bee, all so marvelously know their path, though they have not intelligence, they bear witness to the mystery of God and continually accomplish it themselves."
    - Fyodor Dostoyevsky
