Re: What does the name 'Arshana' mean?

Interesting to see its several meanings. I dreamed about this name in 2009.

In the dream a mother approached a corrupt royal warrior to sell her baby to him, the name of the baby was Arshana.

It's also the name of a place in Russia that sports a Datsan (buddhist university monastery): http://goo.gl/maps/m4w0

It's also a nice bit of synchronicity since the dream (which was complex and long) took place in plains like the ones from the photos.

If I were looking at this word, I would suspect it to be arṣaṇa अर्षण . It means flowing, movable. We find this word in jyotish on occasion. This word is rooted in ṛṣ - to flow , flow quickly , glide , move with a quick motion.

    Namaste,

What about AkarshaN = attraction ? Ak + arshaN
Like magnetic attraction or any attraction.

    Adverb : Akarshit = attracted
    Adjective : Akarshak = attractive

    Food for thought
