Maybe many peoples only know about Hinayana Buddhism who is absolutely refuse idea about God.
But dont forget the one word God has many different meanings.
And dont forget many sect in Hinduism even have different explanation about God. (not only Hindu, also Abrahamic religion in different sect they have different explanation about God, so we can said all of religion all of sect have different explanation)
So about Lord Brahma, we see in Mahayana and Vajrayana Buddhism
1. Have many Brahma (Vaishnava etc also believe many universe have many Brahma)
2. In Mahayana and Vajrayana text also have many Brahma, but one Brahma is Maha-brahma in Sutra of 12 Devas , have explained that Maha-brahma is manifestation of ancient Buddha , and with His power He help beings from another universe to born in His Heaven and then to the world.
3. So in Buddhism , Maha-brahma is one deity who is worshiped. Buddhist scripture also have many text who explain the sadhana and mandala of Maha-brahma. (also many mantra of Brahma)
4. Maha-brahma is get respect from Buddhist like we respect our Parents, because with His mind power He help us to birth in this universe. Then Buddhist respect Maha-brahma like Buddha , because in Sutra of 12 Devas, Buddha has said dont contemn 12 Devas because they are owe to them (even one breath of oxygen) , then a Buddhist sadhaka must see them have Great Dharmakaya !
Buddhist also respect Maha-brahma because He have begs the Buddha to teach Dhamma to the world. Without Him , Buddhist in d world will never hear even one name of Buddha !
Many Buddhist believe that Maha-brahma is the God who worshiped by all of Abrahamic religion.
So , i see Buddhist is like another Hindu sect who have their own explanation about God. But Mahayana and Vajrayana Buddhism text is still rare, so many people in the world only knowing Buddhism by Hinayana teachings , or maybe know about Mahayana and Vajrayana but in the part teachings of Hinayana method , not throught to deep teachings. (Because Vajrayana dont refuse teachings of Hinayana, but see the teachings of Hinayana as first step to learn Buddhism. Only a part of first step)
