Trip blog

    Namasté, all,

In a recent post I mentioned my upcoming trip to Nepal and India. I'm leaving..tomorrow....yikes!

So, as I said I would, I'm posting my blog address, which is here. I plan to update it with trip observations and photos wherever it's possible to do so...and I hope there are lots of both to share.

    Re: Trip blog

    Namaste, all,

So, one thing I forgot about traveling to remote areas is that you're...remote, and very often do not have Internet access.

I'm writing loads in my paper journal, but will probably have to wait for online blogging until I return in December. I'm using a touch screen to peck this message out letter by letter, and it's very time-consuming!

I did want to mention that the somayajña in Panauti, Nepal ended yesterday and was a magnificent, humbling experience. Panauti village is a place of very devout and kind people, and the ritual itself, a few problems aside, was wondrous. The Sāmaveda chanting in particular was heart-rendingly beautiful.

There is to be another in Pune from December 20 to 25 if anyone's in the area...Also, Vedic Society has announced tentative plans to perform next year's offering in Kashmir.

Meanwhile, I write from Kathmandu, with plans to fly back to Delhi and then go by train to Haridwar soon...

Thank you all for your well-wishes and kindness. I wish I could just have HDF folks along for the ride so that we could keep discussing.

Vannakkam Indraneela ... sounds like you're having a blissful time, and I hope it continues. When you arrive at Mother Ganga in Haridwar, be sure to take a few extra dips on behalf of your friends at HDF. I am so looking forward to hearing more once you and friendlier technology meet again.
