    Ekadasi Fasting

    Hello, everyone.

Today I decided to fast for 24 hours. I am interested in beginning to fast in a more organized and purposeful manner. I found this to be very interesting and thought provoking: http://www.dlshq.org/religions/ekadasi.htm

How do I figure out what days to fast? Is it on days of New Moon and Full Moon?

I appreciate any information you can give about this topic.

    Thank you for your time.

Ekadasi is the 11th tithi after Purnima and Amavasya. In December they fall on the 5th and the 20th.

This site uses Gaura instead of Shukla for the bright paksha.

I am subscribed to the Vaishnava Calendar Reminder service. http://www.vaisnavacalendar.info/ I get an e-mail a couple of days before an event. I pay particular attention to the Ekadasi announcements. The e-mails contain a link to the story of the event, festival or holy day.
