Indians are not descendants of Aryans, says new study

[QUOTE]Widely believed theory of Indo-Aryan invasion, often used to explain early settlements in the Indian subcontinent is a myth, a new study by Indian
    geneticists says.

The origin of genetic diversity found in South Asia is much older than 3,500
years when the Indo-Aryans were supposed to have migrated to India, a new study led by scientists from the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB), Hyderabad, says. The study appeared in American Journal of Human Genetics on Friday.

The theory of Indo-Aryan migration was proposed in mid-19th century by German linguist and Sanskrit scholar Max Muller.

It's not a new study. It's a reprint of data that's been known for some time now. There's been strong genetic evidence that India has not been migrated into for the last 40,000-50,000 years.

Max Mueller is dead, so is his theory which was just that: an unproven theory. Since they are dead, let's bury or cremate them. I'll get the wood for the pyre.

    So generous of you.

    Pranam.

PS: My mother always told me that I was from the 'superior' Aryan stock, but with the death of this theory, I have been reduced to 'just another Indian hindu'.

    Vanakkam Everyone,

I decided to do my own research on the topic, and I discovered that the Vedas actually describe a migration of Persians out of India rather than a migration of Aryans into India.

I like how you titled the thread.

LOL.. there was no Aryan "invasion". Aryans are Indian Hindus. End of story. Now I think I will invade my refrigerator; it's dinner time.

But Germans won't easily accept it, during Hitler's regime school kids were drummed with their lineage of Aryans in their classes. And couple of German scientists proved they are indeed descendants of Aryans. It's ironic that they have good quality genes pertaining only to looks and physique but attributing to a myth but at the same time glorifying Indians (Aryans)

I would love to have the reference or quote you got this from....

I was under the understanding that the Mahabharata's factional division territorial wise was seperated northwest vs southeast..... suggesting the alliances were a result of a invasion structurally...... the southern alliances were older.
