Aum Gam Ganapataye Namaha
My mother is responsible for the first Pancha Ganapati of this house this year.
Yesterday the cat that always sleeps with me decided to sleep next to the central Ganesha in the living room altar.
My cats that usually go crazy with any milk you open in the kitchen only drink the milk from the altar after a few hours.
I felt a strong presence in the form of very positive thoughts and an influx of unmotivated happiness and funny dreams filled with intelligence I don't have about sanskrit translations and what not.
This festival should indeed be held by all Hindus this time of the year.
Om
What an awesome story PI, I agree~
This whole week has been wonderful...the solstice combined with Pradosha Puja for some of us.
A good blog on it-

It leaves no doubt in my heart why so many peoples took this time of year so seriously...Beloved Ganesh at work!
Om Ganapataye Namaha!
Does one say "Shubha Pancha Ganapati"?
I missed the other three days, but I can certainly honor Lord Ganesha today and tomorrow. I think I will print this in 8x10" size and frame it.

Vannakkam: For those who are unfamiliar..

Oprah mentioned it recently and it was also mentioned on 'The office'.
Aum Namasivaya
Namaste.
What is the significance of His five faces? The article doesn't mention it, that I saw.
śivasya hridayam viṣṇur viṣṇoscha hridayam śivaḥ
Namast,
Two significances I know are that the five faces represent the five elements (Earth, Water, Fire, Air, Ether), and/or the five kośas of Ātman; thus, the aspirant who worships Pacamukha Gaṇeśa, and meditates upon these five faces, will come to understand the truth of the Self and experience Sat-cit-ānanda.

Namaste.
Thank you.
