    Kirtan

    नमस्ते,

I have grown to love Kirtan. I have some music from western artists who do Kirtan, such as my favorite, Jai Uttal, as well as some others.

I'd love to hear any other suggestions. I like the more traditional ones. I want to expand my collection. I've taken up the practice to doing Kirtan every morning and it really uplifts me for the day.

Glad you are enjoying kirtans. I have noticed when western sings kirtan it's different for some reason..their voices go well with them

Yes, I agree. That's why I really enjoy jai Uttal. His voice is very good for it.

Do you know of any good resources for Kirtan?

    Namaste Aum Namah Shivaya,
I don't listen to much kirtans but have heard Hare Krsna Maha Mantra sung some western girl don't even know her name but it sounds very soothing..always listen when I go to bed

I checked again in youtube..couldn't find but the epitome of what we talking about is Govindam Adi Purusham sung by some lady..don't know but composed by George Harrison..any ISKCON devotee would know better. When she sings it's a different feeling. Haven't heard any kirtans sung by foreigners on Lord Shiva.

I'm not ISKCON ("not that there's anything wrong with it" ), but here are two versions. Yes, George Harrison composed them.

I like playing this one on guitar. This one is from the album entitled "Goddess of Fortune" by The London Radha Krishna Temple.

    नमस्ते,

I've gotten a couple of albums from Krishna Das, but I just don't like his style very much. Maybe it's just the ones I got, though. I might check out some others.
