    Sri Bhuvaneswari mantras

    Namaste;
    I'd appreciate advice from the knowledgable members here. I was a longtime buddhist in an esoteric tradition but no more, feeling the strong call to worship Maa. I'm attracted to Sri Bhuvaneswari, which is a surprise to me. Is this normal, that a devotee would be attracted to a less common form of Devi? And is it okay to worship her as right now I have no guru or temple. If so, could you help me with mantras etc so I can perform a simple puja to her.
    Also can someone be a devotee of Devi and practice yoga as her path; I don't think I am attracted to Sri Vidya. I just love Maa.
    C.K.

    Namaste CK,

    I am glad yet another has heard Devi's call, and it appears She has helped you
    answer some of your own questions.. I would humbly suggest one should allow
    all new knowledge to digest thoroughly, and ask Her help in preventing
    expectations and conditioning from obscuring the path. I wish you much
    success and happiness in your journey, may Maa bless your efforts to draw
    closer to Her!

    thank you for the good advice. I'm such a newbie as I've been practicing Buddhism for many long years; but Maa is calling!

    Right now I'm reading the Devi Gita, what else would you recommend beyond that? Basically I pray to Maa that I am her child and all I want is to feel her love.
    Jai Maa!

    The Devi Gita is itself the last part of the Shrimad Devi Bhagavatam (a mahapurana of 18,000 verses), you may want to go back and read from the beginning, although it is difficult to find a good English translation.

    There is also the Saundarya Lahari, the Tripura Rahasya, the Lalita Sahasranama, the Kalika purana, the Mahanirvana tantra (excellent translation, as well as lots of other shakta material, by John Woodroffe (Arthur Avalon))

    There is an excellent resource maintained by Mike Magee at Shivashakti.com with many pages on tantrism, including shaiva and shakta traditions. Much of the material there should be relevant for you.
