Re: Defining future incarnations
Pranam TouchedbytheLord
I am afraid the translation I presented did not fully justify the verse, because actual meaning is meant to be, that one will remember that which is what the soul contemplated all through out his life.sada tad-bhava-bhavitah
Remembering whatever object one leaves the body at the end of life, one attains that object, O Arjuna, because of the constant thought of that object (one remembers that object at the end of life and achieves it). (8.06)
sada tad-bhava-bhavitah
The moral of the story that was originally posted by Saidevo, as I understand is, if we think that we will do all nonsense all our life but somehow make an arrangement that at the end of the life we remember the Lord and so achieve moksa then we are deluding ourselves because we will remember that which we contemplated in our entire life.As the story proved
There is a similar story in Bhagvat Puran of Ajamil, on his death bed he called out the name of his child Narayan and he was saved from Yamduta and eventually he went to Vainkutha, the moral is, the strength of the names of the Lord. The value of chanting the holy names.
Jai Shree Krishna
Rig Veda list only 33 devas, they are all propitiated, worthy off our worship, all other names of gods are derivative from this 33 originals,
Bhagvat Gita; Shree Krishna says Chapter 3.11 devan bhavayatanena te deva bhavayantu vah parasparam bhavayantah sreyah param avapsyatha Chapter 17.4 yajante sattvika devan yaksa-raksamsi rajasah pretan bhuta-ganams canye yajante tamasa janah
The world disappears in him. He is the peaceful, the good, the one without a second.
