Vishwakarma = Brahman? Why no major schools of worship?

For some it can take a long time; for others, not so long. I shifted out of that gear a long time ago, and coasted in neutral (deist, an Advaitin without knowing that's what it was) for a long time before fully embracing Hinduism.

I like that analogy myself. I'm quite impulsive by nature in some respects, so I need to listen to the gods and think more. :-s

Mradam83, I'm reviving this thread to let you know that Vishwakarma Puja is in a week, on 17 September. More details on the worship and its significance may be found here. Thought you'd like to know since there aren't that many festivals/etc. dedicated to him.
