    Vedic Prayer

    Vanakkam,

i have many times hear this prayer :

    Sarve bhavantu sukhinah
    Sarve santu niramayah
    Sarve bhadrani pashyantu
    Ma kashchit dukha mapnuyat

O Lord! in Thee may all be happy May all be free from misery may all realize goodness, and may no one suffer pain.

But many peoples and also google search only said this is Vedic prayer.

anyone know this prayer is from which text of Veda ?

    Namaste

This is a Shanti mantra, used to open or close other mantras, especially Gayatri.

Shanti mantras are always found at the end of Upanishads; which Shanti mantra is generally correlated to which Veda the Upanishad is connected with. They're also found elsewhere.
