east and west...

prācī & pratīcī ( east and west); some like to say pūrvā for eastern and apareṇa for 'to the west'.
When we think of east and west cultures, many note the differences. At times these differences are competing ( some say adversarial) others see them as variety of what can be created or exhibited by all the possibilities the universe wishes to offer. So, when I say east, it is more of India, and when I say west it is more of the values/culture we find to the west.
The list is to compare and contrast , it is a way to bring things to light. I ask you to add to the list, but not in the spirit of punishment, or that one way is superior. This will just turn the offer into a wipping post. So let me offer a hand full of ideas , some are mine, some come here via my reading. Contribute as you see fit.
