    Happy Sri Krishna Jayanti

Happy Sri Krishna Jayanti. May this day find you and your family in nectarean Krishna-smaranam.

Here is verse from the rAmAyaNam that may be of interest to the Krishna-bhaktas:

    devagandharvagolokaan brahmalokam tathaaparaan |
    praapnuvanti mahaatmaano maataapitR^iparaayaNaaH || 2-30-37

"High souled men, wholly devoted to their parents obtain the regions of gods and the gandharvas, the seventh heaven presided the gandharvas, the seventh heaven presided by Brahma (the creator) and Goloka (the highest heaven abiding in cows and presided over by Sri Radha and Sri Krishna the first couple)."

This verse is spoken by Sri Rama after praising Sita for her wifely devotion in insisting on accompanying Him to the forest exile.

    Namaste Vaishnava
Happy Gokulashtam the birth of Lord Krishna to have been born on the eight day of the Rohini nakshatra.

Krishna devotees like to prepare and consume sweets and butter. A home is decorated with little feet drawn with flour paste symbolizing the entry of the child Krishna into the house.

All over the world there is a mantra known by the common people. It is known because His devotees have shouted it and sang it in the streets. You can thank Them for that. So I will say that mantra. No one is going to stop you from saying it, too. No one can stop you. In remembrence of those Devotees before, now, and to come in the future -

Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna, Krsna Krsna, Hare Hare
Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare

    Happy Krishna Jayanti

    Interesting verse, thanks for posting.

I don't like wishing people happy holidays. If well wishing should be done, it makes no sense to give it for one day only. Shubhama'stu nityam.

    Happy Janmashtami!

Yes, it is truly an interesting verse, of Rama speaking about Krishna whose avatara took place after Ramavatara!

ON the holy occassion of Krishna Janmashtami, one is reminded of the divine Bhaja Govindam sung by MS

    Happy Janmashtami again!

I'll be celebrating it that day too. After all, why should there only be one Janmashthami?
