    Namaste

My name is Alekander and i live in Sweden, more then a year ago i was in search for a religion, that i feel would accept me and found a religion where i can grow as a human. My birth religion is Lutheranism, and i didn't feel a connection and I weren't that religious. So i left my church. Then i started to read both about Islam and Hinduism, and felt more strongly to Hinduism, started to study about it and also I was falling in love with Indian culture and India as well, and embrace it into my home and life. At first i started whit small shrine whit simply resin statues, and i got excited about this faith and way to live so i started to buy allot of religious pictures and religious relics without knowing my place or how to interact with it. Later on i slowed down and set up a shrine dedicated to ganesha, shiva, kartikeya and shakti.

I practice my new faith in private, here is hindu temple in the nearest city. but i haven't visit it. I'm afraid if i will be accepted as this is int my born into religion. And in the village i live here is not that many Indian that i can talk to, to guide me, those that lives here have lost there culture (adoptive from India as young) or doesn't have the same faith (muslims and sikhs).

I hope i can find guidance on this forum and learn more.

    Here is my shrine.

    Take care

Vannakkam Alekander, and welcome to HDF.

I hope your stay here is fruitful. You really wouldn't have a problem going to the local Hindu temple. We're generally quite welcoming, regardless of ethnicity. There is also a mice temple in Denmark, across the strait.

I like your shrine. Thanks for sharing. As you've probably discovered, this place, besides being a place to discuss, is also a great resource.

    Namaste and welcome Alekander

Please remove the fear that you wont be accepted. Hinduism is a way of life. Anyone is free to adopt it. Regular visits at temples can be fruitful, as you can get guidance.

Please understand that wherever temples are built in foreign land, then they out to embrace all. We do not believe in closed private circles.

Even Hindus worship more than one form of God.

Vannakkam: I see there are several to choose from.

You could go for a weekend and see 3 or 4. According to google maps, you're closer to Denmark than to Stockholm.
