    Two Simple Mala Questions

    Namaste,

I have two very simple questions.

    1) I have been using one small 108 mala, I'm not sure of the material, I believe there is gold for every odd piece, and some sort of other material for the even pieces, my dad gave it to me. I have been using it daily for a while now and for the past few days I have been getting a heavy feeling or gravitation for wearing it on my neck. I can't explain it, but I have waited for a few days for the sensation to subside but it will not go away. I can not describe it as a desire, because I am not personally yielding for it. It just seems to happen. No one will be able to see it, as it will be hidden under my shirt, but the [feeling] remains. I have no issue accepting the mala on my body and I will not disrespect it.

If I did this I would use a seperate bead for my japa; that is not a issue.
Would it be advisable to do this?

    2) I heard that upon chanting a bija mantra or any respective mantra; that bead is energised with that specific manifestations energy. In accordance with this energy : to chant a different deity's mantra you should use a different mala. Is this true? For e.g. I plan to chant Ganesh Ji's mantra soon to help me become closer to Shiv-ji, but I also have much love for Maa Durga and will also eventually chant hers and so forth, can I do this all on one mala or should I keep it seperate?

    Thankyou!

    Aum Namah Shivaya!

    Re: Two Simple Mala Questions

    Dear IC,

Things will start happening the way you believe. Whatever is happening to you is what you believe. Change your thoughts and things will be alright.

Do not focus on such things. Leave the Mala aside. It is simply a tool. Concentrate on God, any aspect which appeals to you. ... and yes, nothing will happen if you use the same Mala for chanting different mantras unless you start believing in it so strongly that your own thoughts start causing all this. It is all in your mind.
